NEWS: GOTOTWIN field inspection of PV

As part of the GOTOTWIN project, our research team at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing conducted a field inspection of the photovoltaic (PV) system on the Faculty rooftop in Zagreb, Croatia. This system is an integral element of our Smart Grid Laboratory.
The primary goal of the activity was to collect real-world data to support the development of mathematical PV models. These models are essential for accurately simulating PV output power and are a key element in creating a digital twin platform for renewable energy systems.
During the inspection, we evaluated the system configuration, PV modules and inverter specifications, and local environmental conditions affecting performance. This data-driven approach ensures that the digital models will closely mirror real operational behavior—laying the groundwork for advanced energy monitoring and optimization.
These efforts directly support GOTOTWIN’s broader aim of enabling smarter, data-driven energy management in the Adriatic-Ionian region by facilitating real-time monitoring, optimization, and predictive maintenance through digital twin technology.
